How fast will I get my rent deposit back?
I just wanted to know if anyone knew about this. I’m planning on moving out by December 1st, so will I get my deposit the same day?
Let me know if you had this experience or anything will help.
I’m moving out before Dec 1, I emailed my landlord about it, but I’m still waiting on his answer.
I was hoping I would get it soon, but hopefully everything goes well.

You should do.

From my experience it’s usually about 2-4 weeks after moving out. To get it faster you might want to ask the landlord to inspect the property just before or after you move your things out. If they can do the inspection right away there will be no reason to hold onto your money anymore.

It is usually spelled out in the rental agreement or lease, but don’t be surprised to see a 30 day or even a 60 period in there before you see your money.
It will almost certainly NOT be that day.
good luck!

State laws vary on requirements for return of security deposits. Assuming that you are entitled to the entire deposit (not a safe assumption), you can expect to wait anywhere from two weeks to six weeks.
It’s extremely rare for a landlord to return the security immediately when you leave the premises. I did it ONCE, and then only to a mature woman tenant who took care of the place better than I did.

It just depends on your landlord. When I got mine, he said I would get it between 3-5 days, but maybe a week.
Don’t worry, I’m sure you’ll get it before Christmas
Good Luck
