Should I use a contract to lease my flat for a period of only 1 month?
I’ll be letting it out for a month, and would like to use a contract. I can find no style of contract that is suitable - I live in Scotland and the nearest I can find is a Short Assured Tenancy agreement, which is only applicable for 6 months or more.
Does anyone have any experience of this or suggestions?
Many Thanks
Sorry perhaps should have mentioned that I will be renting the flat over the Edinburgh Festival period, hence the short term.

I live in the US but it’s pretty universal that you should put any agreement as to rental of real estate in writting. To not do this opens you up to a lot of potential problems.
If you use a longer contract there should be a place for notes, and you can alter the agreement with a statement that it’s for one month and any other considerations you need to enforce. The renter will probably need some notes there to so they are protected in what was agreed as well.

I live in Massachusetts, USA. Over here we have a month by month contract called ‘Tenancy at Will’. It is signed by both tenant and landlord, and renews automatically each month upon payment of rent. It can be terminated at any time by either party for any reason, as long as 1)There is at least 30 days advanced notice of termination, and 2)Tenancy ends on a rent payment date. In your case, notice should be given at the time of signing if the agreement is only for one month. There may be a similar contract available where you are. talk to some local landlords and find out what they use.

to be honest i don’t think that many people would want the hassle of moving into a flat and then a month later having to move out, would you want to?
As a private renter i would not do it, sorry, why do you want to rent it out for just one month, can you not get someone to sit for a month maybe
