Read the terms of the lease. If it’s not clear from that, ask the landlord

check this out with your landlord otherwise you may be breaking the terms of your lease , the part about sub letting

I WOULD CONSULT WITH YOUR LANDLORD FIRST TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE,IF YOU DO SUB LET WITHOUT HIS PERMISSION , HE WOULD HAVE PERFECT GROUNDS TO EVICT YOU BUT READ YOUR TENANCY AGREEMENT IT MAY SAY YOU CAN GOOD LUCK

You will need the written consent of the landlord and the landlord will probably want that person’s name added to the lease.

No. That is called subletting and it is probably written into your lease that you cannot do that. If you think your landlord would be understanding, you could always ask about it though. Remember that the lease is in your name so if the rent doesn’t get paid or any damage or nuisance is caused, the landlord will be right onto you about it.
