How do I incorporate an Asian parasol into my home’s decoration?

home decoration
I recently bought a beautiful parasol from Thailand and would love to display it somehow in my home. It has a beautiful scene on it so I would love to have it opened. Any ideas?

I’ve hung items like that over my fireplace, or maybe on the wall above a dining room sideboard. You may have to remove the handle to hang it on the wall

I saw a really neat looking bedroom re-do on TV using parasols like that. They were hung from the ceiling using thin wire. You would have to attach the wire to the parasol ribs and to the handle to get it to hang sort of horizontally. Then, behind it is a wall sconce light. The light shines through the parasol when it is lit and it is a beautiful effect!
If you don’t have wall sconces you could use those stick up lights. They are sold at hardware stores for use in closets and use batteries so you don’t have to worry about wiring and you can hang them anywhere.
